one of the most awaited bikes of the country, Pulsar 400 is out to beat the other sport bikes. this is the bike which still thrills the DNA of an true sport bike lovers,we have given the gift from BAJAJ in form of PULSAR 400 SS and PULSAR 400 CS

Bajaj did not give any kind of a hint regarding its launch. But what we have managed to gather is that Bajaj does have plans to launch it within this financial year itself. According to the sniff we have got, clubbed with our own acumen, we expect Pulsar 400SS to be priced around the 1.65-1.75 Lakh which will make it the best bhp-per-rupee motorcycle, possibly in the world!

  • Engine:
Pulsar 400SS will carry the same 373.2cc single cylinder motor from Duke 390. The change will, however, be the introduction of Triple Spark plugs like the Pulsar 200NS.
  • Pulsar 400SS will be fuel injected and will get 4-valves
  • It will come with a 6-speed gearbox.
  • Pulsar 400SS gets twin projector head lamps upfront which come with silver underlines. Over these, we have the eyebrow pilot lamps.
  • It will be equipped with Antilock Braking System (ABS). Will it be standard remains to be seen. Duke 390 gets it as standard and the model Bajaj showcased at the Auto Expo also had it.
  • Unlike the underbelly exhaust of the Pulsar 200NS & the Duke twins, Pulsar 400SS gets a dual tone short one. Does it look good? Well, we can not decide yet!
  • Instrument Console: What we liked about the console was that it was not an all-digital one and features a mix of digital speedo, gear indicator and analogue tachometer. It appears similar to Pulsar 200NS in design but we believe it will show more details.
  • Disc Brakes: Interestingly, Pulsar 400SS was showcased with round disc brakes upfront. The rear were regular petals
  • Pulsar 400SS will be the biggest Pulsar in the market along with being the first ever full faired Bajaj.
  • It will also mark the return of Bajaj to fuel injected models after it discontinued theirPulsar 220 DTSFi.
  • Split seat appears to be decently wide, however the grab rails are hidden neatly into the rear cowl.
  • The tail lamps look real overdone and possibly out of place too. We hope the production model comes with a better and more complementing design.

Hero Splendor Pro ClassicHero Splendor Pro Classic
Hero's new game by launching cafe racer styled splendor pro classic.

The popular Hero Splendor’s new avatar, the Splendor Pro Classic was on display at the Hero pavilion at Auto Expo 2014. The bike gets a rounded headlight and rounded rear-view mirrors. The tail has been given the 60s cafe racer treatment. The company is calling it the 100cc cafe racer.

The Pro Classic comes with pretty much all the nuts, bolts and components plucked from Splendor parts bin and hence the similar performance figures. The tried-and-true air-cooled 97.2 cc four-stroker maxes out at 7.7 bhp at 7000 rpm and the max torque of 8.04Nm comes in at 4500 rpm. Gearing is 4-speed constant mesh and the braking is drum both wheels. The bike weighs about 109 kg.

  • Café racer styling
  • Chrome plated fenders, rear suspension casing, indicators, and rear view mirrors.
  • Retro styled graphics.
  • Round headlight.
  • Short handle
  • Round taillight with integrated winkers.
  • APDV engine.
Splendor Pro Classic is homologated as a single seater. It is a fresh attempt by Hero to launch a salvo at the fast growing ‘Cafe Racer’ motorcycle culture. However, one really wishes to know why did Hero chose their least powered bike. A cafe racer should have some power to lug your weight, forget about speeding to cafes!

Nonetheless, according to Hero, they say they want to offer Cafe Racer styling to even the 100cc customers who have limited budgets and this actually is an experiment by the company to promote themselves as a youth-oriented manufacturer.

SILENCER

The compact, three-chamber silencer is positioned close to the bike's overall center of gravity. This aids the centralization of masses and enhances the playful handling of the 390 Duke 2013. Thanks to a regulated catalytic converter, the emissions are exemplary.

ENGINE

Completely new, the KTM 390 Duke's state-of-the-art, single-cylinder engine once again underlines KTM's development strength. It's clear that the latest materials and production technologies not only deliver the bike's bountiful torque and overwhelming acceleration at all engine speeds, but also good manners in everyday use and outstanding fuel economy. With 375 cc, the single-cylinder engine only weighs 36 kg, thanks to the compact design - typical of KTM - with transmission shafts arranged one above another. Moreover, it delivers a punchy 44 hp with such technical refinements as NaCaSil cylinder coating and forced oil lubrication with performance-boosting casing evacuation (the suction pump not only transfers oil, but also pressure from the crankcase, thereby reducing the running resistance of the crank drive).

The highly anticipated KTM 1290 Super Duke R is expected to be unveiled on September 29, following which the launch is most likely to be scheduled at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, starting from November 5. Interestingly, the Austrian manufacturer is putting in a lot of efforts in the promotion of its upcoming offering. It has launched a dedicated website of this superbike wherein a countdown metre reflects the time left for the unveiling of KTM 1290.

Bike enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for this latest KTM two wheeler since the time prototype was broadcast on the Internet. The company has also released a teaser video of this bike as a part of its pre-launch advertising campaign; however, the pictures of the exact look of KTM 1290 were leaked out in July itself. So, basically almost everyone has an idea of how the bike would look. It was later reported that the designs were leaked by Kiska Design agency, the designing company that works with KTM during a pre-launch preview.

Not much of a difference is observed between the final product and the concept shown at the 2012 EICMA Motor Show, except for the exhaust and the headlamps. It will be equipped with a 1290 cc liquid-cooled V-Twin, 8-valve, ride-by-wire powertrain which would belt out around 180 bhp of maximum power. Along with, RC8R, which is currently being showcased at KTM showrooms, is equipped with the same engine as well. It will have additional features like Anti-lock Braking System and traction control that can be deactivated. It comes with a chrome-molybdenum steel tubular frame and light-alloy single-sided swingarm and light-alloy wheels with slicks. Suspension components include WP prototypes – upside-down fork with gas pressure cartridge and directly connected shock absorber.

KTM Sport motorcycle happens to be an Austrian motorcycle, bicycle and moped manufacturer. The firm was founded in 1934 by an engineer named Hans Trunkenpolz in Mattighofen, Austria and started out as a metal working shop. Later on, in 1954, KTM started producing motorcycles. It was mostly famous for its off road bikes, however, in the recent past it has also started coming up with street motorbike production. In 2008, KTM and Bajaj started off with a joint venture and came out with Duke 200 and Duke 390. Duke 390, that was recently launched, has been receiving positive response from the customers. However, the domestic buyers will have to probably wait for some more time before KTM 1290 gets a place in the local showrooms. It is speculated that the Super Duke R would be priced somewhere around Rs. 10 lakh.
