Straightforward reasons why you should take on an internship abroad (especially through AIESEC!)
1) You’re taken out of your comfort zone. This proves that you’re able to work under pressure and rise up to new challenges. It’s a great thing to mention to future employers. 2)You’ll gain new perspectives. Different countries may have different work ethics, and you will gain knowledge on how things can be done differently. This could then give you an edge when you start looking for work after university. 3) Language skill development. What better way to learn or practice a language then being in an environment where it’s spoken, and where you’re forced to speak some of it. As the world becomes more global, learning languages is an important skill to have. 4) You get to learn about a field while contributing to the community. Especially with our AIESEC GCDP (Global community development program), it’s a great chance to learn about teaching for example. While you’re learning you’ll also be able to give back to the community where you’re doing the internship (like providing education to kids there!) 5) Food. Face it, when you go into a new country you’ll definitely be looking forward to, and trying out, the different foods the country has to offer. Going on an internship abroad means you get to try new foods, gain new recipes, and eat in new ways you haven’t done so before. So if you haven’t done so yet, take on an AIESEC internship. For those who have already gone on one, I’m sure they could provide more ample reasons on why you should take on an internship abroad :) |
