 The rhythmic beats of Garba echoed across Schönebeck as Gujarati Samaj Magdeburg (GSM) celebrated its grand two-day Navratri Utsav 2025 with unmatched energy, color, and community spirit. With over 350 participants each day, the event turned into one of the biggest Gujarati celebrations ever hosted in the Sachsen-Anhalt region. Held at the spacious Stadtpark Schönebeck, the festival brought together families, students, and cultural enthusiasts from Magdeburg, Wolfsburg, Berlin, and beyond. From the very first beat of the dhol to the final aarti, the atmosphere was electric — a perfect blend of devotion and festivity. Delicious authentic Gujarati food prepared by Anil Bhai and friends from the Shri Jai Ambe Group (Schönebeck) was one of the highlights. Guests enjoyed a full dinner and refreshments throughout the evening, served with the warmth and hospitality that has become the hallmark of GSM events. Music for the celebration was powered by DJ Ankit and Siddharth Mistry, who kept the crowd on their feet with a perfect mix of traditional Garba tunes and contemporary beats. The event also featured a 360° selfie booth, beautiful decorations, and a vibrant aarti ceremony led by the women’s wing of the Samaj. Adding to the excitement, GSM hosted Best Costume and Best Garba awards in six categories, while all participating children were recognized with special prizes — a gesture that filled the evening with laughter, pride, and joy.  Speaking about the success of the event, Ankit Sheladiya, organizer and representative of Gujarati Samaj Magdeburg, said: “Every year, our Navratri celebration reminds us that home is not a place — it’s people coming together. Seeing so many Gujaratis and Indian families unite in Magdeburg to keep our traditions alive is truly heartwarming. This year’s event was not just a celebration — it was a statement of community, culture, and togetherness.” The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who managed everything from decoration and sound to food, check-in, and guest support — ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees Gujarati Samaj Magdeburg has been organizing Navratri celebrations for three consecutive years, each one bigger and brighter than the last. With the success of Navratri 2025, the team now looks ahead to their next major celebration — Diwali and Gujarati New Year Utsav 2025, scheduled for October 18, 2025, in Magdeburg.
